To celebrate new beginnings, I’ll be teaching
Ikebana lessons again, and I hope you’ll join me. I’ll be offering private and small group lessons at my home in Bend—an inspiring setting to study, practice, and deepen your relationship with ikebana.
About Sogetsu Ikebana
Sogetsu ikebana is a modern school of Japanese flower arrangement founded in 1927 by Sofu Teshigahara. Rooted in tradition yet open to innovation, Sogetsu is known for its belief that anyone can practice ikebana, anywhere, with any materials. While it honors classical principles, it also encourages personal expression and creativity. With consistent practice, students will develop both technical skill and a deeper sensitivity to materials, season, and form.

Our Study Together
We’ll be studying using the official Sogetsu textbooks, which provide a clear progression through the curriculum.
Textbooks 1–2 are ideal for beginners
Textbooks 3–4 are for more advanced students
If you plan to attend, it’s worthwhile to have your own copy. Please contact me if you need a textbook.
As many of you know, I strongly believe in the value of practice. No matter what level you consider yourself—beginner or experienced—you are welcome. With regular study, everyone advances, often in deep and unexpected ways.

Our first group lesson will be:
Date: Sunday, January 25
Time: 1:00–3:00 p.m.
